About The Role: Bell is looking for a committed and accountable Residential Assistant to live on-site in our lively and bustling student housing and work with us in Cambridge. You will have a major part in making sure that our international students, who are at least 18 years old, are comfortable and satisfied in their housing as a residential assistant.


In addition to helping students check in and out, the residential assistant will make sure the residence is a comfortable place to live. It will be your responsibility to enforce rules as they apply in order to maintain Bell standards and create a courteous, peaceful living environment.

Up to 20 hours a week can be worked, with 3 hours on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9 p.m. to midnight and 8 hours on Sundays. The workdays are Monday through Friday. This implies that, should you so choose, you might simply combine the role with other daytime work.


Situated on acres of stunning private school grounds in the south of Cambridge, this live-in position includes free housing and utility expenses.

Responsibilities

  • As you greet the students, give them a quick orientation that covers the house rules, expectations for noise and cleanliness, and how to evacuate in case of a fire.

  • Respond to questions from students and offer local information when needed.

  • Serve as a point of contact between the Bell staff, the students, and their parents on occasion.

  • Assist in guaranteeing the wellbeing, security, and safety of pupils.

  • Ensure that everyone staying at the property follows the regulations and that it continues to be a peaceful and comfortable space.

  • Communicate any problems or events to the Bell Cambridge staff.

  • Make recommendations for how to make things better and report any maintenance problems.

  • Help in the event of an emergency evacuation, such as a fire.

About You

The ideal applicant will be able to exhibit good customer service and communication skills, as well as have experience dealing with young people. You should be approachable and polite, and when necessary, you should be able to take the initiative. It is preferred to have prior pastoral or welfare experience as well as experience working in a residential setting, like a boarding house.
