Qualification and Experience


According to state organizational requirements, the camp and conference facility must have the following qualifying certification (must be one of the following):

  • A doctor with an Oregon license.

  • An Oregon-licensed registered nurse.

  • A practical nurse with an Oregon license.

  • An instructor credentialed by the National Athletic Trainers Association.

  • An individual who has successfully completed the American Red Cross Emergency Response Course or an equivalent program.

  • A person who has earned certification in Wilderness Advanced First Aid, or higher, from a nationally renowned organization.

  • A military medical corpsman serving now.

  • A valid driver's license is a requirement.

  • Two summer camp seasons or one year of comparable employment are needed.

  • Age requirement: at least 18 years old.

Skills, Knowledge, and  Abilities Needed:


  • Want to work with children, adolescents, and young people.

  • Strong clinical professionalism and aptitude for solving medical problems.

  • Dependable and steady under pressure.

  • Have strong administrative, communication, and organizing abilities.

  • The capacity to interact and converse effectively with people of different ages, cultures, and origins.

  • the capacity to use a phone.

  • The capacity to use a desktop or laptop computer, as well as to access and generate data from one.

  • The capacity for collective collaboration.

  • The capacity to function with little direction and a high level of independence with ease.

  • Ability to independently make decisions in the face of difficult issues, one-of-a-kind or uncommon circumstances, and meeting deadlines or demanding requirements.
